Transportation Options

  • Car Rental: You can rent a car at the Boise Airport. Boise State University recommends Hertz and Enterprise.
  • Rideshare: Uber and Lyft are the most commonly used transportation services in Boise outside of personal vehicles. To get started, download the Uber or Lyft app. Then, link your credit card or bank account. Once your account is set up, you can request a ride directly from the app.
  • Hotel Shuttle Service: Many hotels offer complimentary shuttle service between the airport and their location. Contact your hotel directly to check availability and arrange pick-up.
  • Boise State Shuttle (Bronco Shuttle): The Bronco Shuttle is a free campus shuttle service provided by Boise State’s Department of Public Safety. Learn more about the shuttle hours and stop frequency. Use the Boise State Shuttle Tracker to view shuttle stops and live updates.

General Information

  • Weather: Boise in July is hot, dry and sunny. The average high is about 90°F with lows around 60°F. We recommend dressing in layers and bringing sunblock for your outdoor activities.
  • Wifi and Cellular Service: Free WiFi is available across the Boise State campus. If you need international cell service, contact your mobile provider before your trip or consider purchasing a SIM card.
  • Currency Exchange: The current currency exchange rate from the United States Dollar to the Euro: $1.00 USD = approximately €0.88 Euro
  • Health and Safety: In case of emergency, dial 911. The nearest hospital is St. Luke’s Boise Medical Center, located at 190 E. Bannock St.
