  1. Access the system by selecting “Login,” then choosing the Boise state University User login option.
  2. Enter your Boise State credentials.
  3. On the homepage, select “Training” > “View Available Courses”
  4. Complete “A Day in the Lab,” “Hazardous Waste Training,” and “Lab Safety” modules.
  5. Attach the certificate of completion (or screenshot showing your name and date of completion) to the appropriate box on the Key/Proxy Authorization Form.

CITI Training

Anyone working with animals, humans, or potentially biohazardous materials must complete CITI training . If you are a TA teaching an A&P class, Microbiology or Human/Comparative Phys, or working in any other lab using potentially infectious materials, you will need to register for an account and complete the Biosafety Essentials module:

  • Biosafety Training: Biosafety Essentials, Bloodborne Pathogens, Animal Biosafety, Select Agents, Biosecurity and Bioterrorism

If you work with human tissue or potentially infectious material in your research, you may need to do additional modules. For more information on the CITI training and accessing the training modules visit the Office of Research Compliance website. Additional trainings often include:

  • Human Subjects Research Training
  • Animal Care and Use Training

Print a copy of your completion certificate for your lab’s safety training binder. Keep a personal copy in your for submitting as proof on the Key/Proxy Authorization form when requesting access to labs that require certification.

CITI training is valid for three years. After three years, you will need to complete a refresher course. The refresher course will certify you for an additional three years.

*The Bloodborne Pathogens Training must be completed annually
