Exciting Changes Happening within Boise State’s Blue Sky Institute

By Micaela Smith, Blue Sky Graduate Assistant, MBA Candidate

The Blue Sky Institute welcomes Shannon Rush-Call as RBI’s new Diversity and Inclusion Fellow.

Over the past few months, the Blue Sky Institute has revised its organizational structure. We have consolidated our five pillars of focus into three: Diversity and Inclusion, Impact Measurement, and Population Health. Each of these pillars is led by a Blue Sky fellow who is a demonstrated leader in the community and is an expert in their respective subject.

As a Blue Sky Fellow, Rush-Call is responsible for providing strategic leadership with a commitment of an average of five to ten hours a week, creating momentum to further our diversity and inclusion vision.

Rush-Call is an employee at Micron, where she has served as the Director of Global Organizational Effectiveness since 2016. She and her team are responsible for designing and deploying global programs that enable Micron to build a thriving, inclusive, and high-performance culture.

Rush-Call’s expertise in diversity and inclusion through an organizational effectiveness lens–with experience in global company culture change, collaboration and complex facilitation, and business operations–gives her unique qualifications to facilitate conversations and enable change in cross-sector diversity and inclusion initiatives.

“I believe it’s an important time in our world to include more voices in the work we do –there is tremendous power in inclusion. I am excited to expand my efforts in diversity and inclusion outside of Micron and into our community, said Rush-Call. “RBI is the perfect platform to do so.”

Historically, Blue Sky’s RBI Diversity and Inclusion efforts have been centered on raising awareness of issues within the diversity and inclusion space.

“RBI has successfully elevated the conversation about diversity and inclusion in Boise.  We will build on this momentum as we revisit our strategy with an eye towards more focused action,” said Rush-Call.

Please join us in welcoming Shannon Rush-Call to the team. We look forward to continuing to work with all of our stakeholders under our refined structure and strategy.
