Blue Sky Institute, much like the blue sky, represents a “clean slate” with an almost infinite potential for change. Blue Sky models higher education’s responsibility to create a positive social and environmental impact in the community and to ensure that the next generation of leaders across business, government and civil society have the skills, knowledge, and commitment needed to tackle complex and wicked problems.
What We Do
Boise State University’s Blue Sky Institute provides a nonpartisan space where stakeholders, who may have conflicting interests, can gather to discuss common problems and generate intentional solutions. Blue Sky serves as an honest broker for diverse, and often siloed, stakeholders and as an incubator of new ideas and solutions alongside partners in business, health care, government, and non-profit organizations. In short, Blue Sky works with leaders across the campus and the community to facilitate and evaluate efforts to create systems-level social change.
