Anti-Racism Center Kicks Off Fall 2021 Speaking Series with Irene Ruiz – Oct. 6, 2021

The Department of Sociology’s Anti-Racism Center is excited to kick-off our Fall 2021 speaking engagement series with Irene Ruiz on Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2021, 6:30-7:30 p.m.

This discussion will focus on the importance of including BIPOC voices in environmental and climate justice issues in Idaho and how environmental racism silences those voices. Irene Ruiz will talk about how the newest Latinx chapter Vision 2C Resource Council and Idaho Immigrant Resource Alliance are working on amplifying these voices through their Farm worker Justice Campaign and COVID-19 rapid response work.

Time will be reserved for a discussion and Q&A immediately following the presentation. Open to the public with student engagement highly encouraged!
