Hansen shares physical, emotional and professional experiences with Idaho Dance Theatre

The Boise City Department of Arts and History recently published an article, “Creators, Makers, & Doers: Marla Hansen of Idaho Dance Theatre,” written by Brooke Burton and featuring Marla Hansen, director of dance in the Department of Theatre, Film and Creative Writing and artistic director of Idaho Dance Theatre.

Of course when we think about dance we think about physical balance. Hansen describes this more deeply in the interview, “Balance between self-criticism and self-acceptance, between your strengths and weaknesses, and between your personal and working relationships.”

Hansen also shares her ideas on the importance of trust in professional and personal relationships along with the unsteady beginnings of the company, how they got their name and what exactly is a ballet mistress in the article, “Creators, Makers, & Doers: Marla Hansen of Idaho Dance Theatre.”
