Zoom brings Boise State and Japanese students together

Boise State Japanese language students with students from Komatsu University in Japan

Boise State Japanese language students and students at Komatsu University in the Ishikawa prefecture in Japan recently met via Zoom for a “getting to know you” session. Tetsuya Ehara, lecturer of Japanese in the Department of World Languages, says that, “Finding the opportunity of speaking a targeted language is always encouraged for the students. We hope Boise State students may be able to take advantage of learning their targeted language through maximizing online tools.”

Ehara plans to develop more collaborations with Komatsu University as a way to motivate Boise State students to increase their interest in studying Japanese. Ehara wants to expand the idea to other disciplines at both universities for mutual partnerships in the future.
