Applications are open now through December 11, 2023, for Boise State University’s new International Research Experiences for Students-Raptor Research (IRES-RR) 2024 program. Research focuses on potential effects of a changing climate and oceanic conditions, and renewable energy, on movements of raptors through an important European and African flyway for birds.

This program for up to five STEM undergraduate and/or graduate students is made possible through National Science Foundation funding and support from the Boise State University Raptor Research Center, the Boise State University Intermountain Bird Observatory, and international partner Fundación Migres.

The IRES-RR experience includes participation in a spring semester seminar course to help prepare students for international research, an 8-week summer raptor research experience in southern Spain, and an autumn professional conference to present research findings. Student participants receive stipends, paid travel, and lodging.

More program details, eligibility requirements, and how to apply can be found on the IRES-RR website.
