Don’t fraternities mean men only?

Alpha Kappa Psi is an educational and professional fraternity. Unlike social fraternities, professional fraternities have proudly included women for decades. Women have held membership in Alpha Kappa Psi since 1976.

Is there partying or hazing in Alpha Kappa Psi?

Although we hold several fun social events throughout the semester, we have a strict alcohol and drug policy that holds us to high standards. Hazing is strictly prohibited and could result in members being suspended or the chapter closing down. We want all members and pledges to be comfortable and safe, so we take this issue very seriously.

Is Alpha Kappa Psi for business majors only?

Alpha Kappa Psi is open to all students who express an interest in business, and that can include all majors! We have had Education, Chemical Engineering, and many other majors as fully participating and leading members.

Who can join?

Any current student who will not graduate within the year and maintains at least a B average can take part in the pledge process for joining Alpha Kappa Psi.

What is the process of joining?

After the Rush recruiting event, all applicants, or pledges, will attend an 8-week class held each Thursday night. They will be taught the history, values, and rules held by Alpha Kappa Psi. Those students who abide by the rules and show their responsibility and dedication will then be fully initiated at the end of the class.

What are the expectations of the members in Alpha Kappa Psi?

Members are expected to:

  • Attend all chapter meetings to the best of their abilities. Meetings will be held weekly during the semester.
  • Pay biannual dues to the chapter
  • Maintain at least a B average
  • Cooperate with other members
  • Support and live by the fraternity’s codes, bylaws, ritual and values.
