Dr. Casey Kennington attended the AAAI Symposium on Natural Communication for Human-Robot Collaboration which took place in Arlington, Virginia. He also attended the ACM International Conference on Multimodal Interfaces in Glasgow, Scotland. In both cases, he presented posters about current and ongoing research.
He then spent a day at the Heriot-Watt University Interaction Lab where he gave an invited talk, and spoke to many of the great researchers there. The Interaction Lab is one of the finalists in this year’s Amazon Alexa Challenge, and they have had a successful year taking part in the UK “Year of Robotics”. The Interaction Lab does great research in spoken dialogue systems and robotics.
