Transcript – COEN Welcome message

On behalf of the College of Engineering, welcome to Boise State. My name is Amy Fleischer and it is my pleasure to serve as the fifth dean of the College of Engineering.

We are thrilled to have you here and look forward to supporting you on your academic journey at Boise State. At the College of Engineering, or COEN as we call it, we offer a wide variety of academic programs with an emphasis for hands-on learning, activity, and engagement.

Some of our key areas of study include engineering, computer science, construction management, and cyber operations. These programs are designed to provide you with the knowledge and skills that you’ll need to succeed here and in your future career.

Our world class faculty and staff are here to help you every step of the way. Getting involved outside of the classroom is an important part of the college experience. Start by connecting with the talented team in the Micron Student Success Center. The team is here to help you with career discovery, leadership development, and opportunities to engage in the community and STEM activities. They will also help you connect with College of Engineering Ambassadors who are students eager to share their own experiences with you.

Whether you’re an engineering major looking for a career in aerospace, infrastructure, robotics, sustainability, or a computer science major interested in cybersecurity or artificial intelligence, there are plenty of ways to get involved.

As you start your journey with us at the College of Engineering, we want you to know that the possibilities are endless. Now is the time for you to explore your passions, take risks, push yourself beyond your comfort zone, and maximize the incredible potential that lies within you. We are thrilled to have you here as part of our community, and we can’t wait to see what you’ll accomplish in the months and years ahead.
