Degree Requirements
Required Core Courses (12 credits):
- CS 533 Introduction to Data Science (3 credits)
- CS 534 Machine Learning (3 credits)
- MATH 562 Probability and Statistics (3 credits)
- MATH 572 Computational Statistics (3 credits)
Elective Courses (6 credits):
- Take at least 3 credits from the following: Graduate courses in Computer Science
- Take at least 3 credits from the following: Graduate courses in MATH
Culminating Activity (12 credits) – Complete one of the following:
Thesis – Take between 6 and 9 credits from the following:
- COMPUT 593 – Thesis (1 – 9)
- Take between 6 and 3 credits from the following types of courses: Graduate courses in MATH or Computer Science or other graduate courses to be selected with student input and approval by the supervisory committee.
Service Learning Capstone – Complete all of the following:
- COMPUT 695 – Service Learning (3)
- Take at least 9 credits from the following: Graduate courses in MATH or Computer Science or other graduate courses to be selected with student input and approval by the supervisory committee.
Practicum / Internship – Take at least 3 credits from the following:
- COMPUT 590 – Practicum/Internship (3)
- Take at least 9 credits from the following: Graduate courses in MATH or Computer Science or other graduate courses to be selected with student input and approval by the supervisory committee.
