A CyberCorps® Scholarship for Service (SFS) Program at Boise State University

BRONCO SHIELD

The BRONCO SHIELD program seeks to address the need for cybersecurity and artificial intelligence (AI) experts dedicated to public service by awarding scholarships to a diverse cohort of undergraduate, master’s, and PhD students at Boise State. The program offers scholars comprehensive exposure to integrated AI and cybersecurity, preparing them to transition into cyber security professionals equipped to serve in public sector organizations, safeguarding our nation’s assets from cyber threats.

The Fall 2025 application period is now closed. Please check back in Fall 2025 for updates on the next application cycle for Fall 2026 admission into the Bronco Shield program.

What Are The Benefits of This Scholarship?

Each year in the BRONCO SHIELD program, scholars receive comprehensive financial support, which includes:

  • Full tuition and fees coverage
  • A stipend of $27,000 for undergraduates and $37,000 for graduate students
  • Up to $6,000 annually dedicated to  professional development and health insurance

What Programs Are Accepted?

Students may choose from the following types of degree pathways with corresponding funding durations:

  • Bachelor + Accelerated Master: Eligible for up to 3 years of SFS funding.
  • Master: Eligible for up to 2 years of SFS funding.
  • PhD: Eligible for up to 3 years of SFS funding.
