Daisy Brand specializes in making high quality sour cream and cottage cheese products. Their iconic blue and white packages are a favorite among households across the country. Daisy has partnered with BUILD Dairy and the Dairy NutriSols team to develop novel software solutions for improving the quality of their products through inline monitoring. Near infrared spectroscopy can be used to monitor the protein quality of milk during the production of Daisy’s products. Through the use of AI and specialized software development, the Dairy NutriSols team is working with Daisy to improve inline quality monitoring. The goal is to improve process efficiency which means that more product can run through the plant with greater and more efficient quality control. Daisy Brand serves as a pioneer and early adopter of this novel software solution.

Agropur is a multinational, long-standing dairy brand. Founded in 1938, their US division specialize in a variety of dairy ingredient solutions including protein powders. These powders are used as protein-rich ingredients throughout the world in products such as infant formula, medical foods and protein supplements. Agropur is working with the Dairy NutriSol’s team to pilot new methods of dairy protein spray drying to improve protein quality and shelf-life.

With an R&D facility located in Twin Falls, Idaho, the company is ideally situated and equipped to work with the Dairy NutriSols team on the formulation of innovative protein-rich dairy ingredients. Extrusion technology has the ability to encapsulate dairy proteins into a variety of products. Imagine a bag of protein-rich crispies and you are on the right track. These ingredients, when added to foods, can boost the nutritional value and add unique texture (i.e., bars and other snacks).
