Boise State geoscientists working in the shadow of Villarrica

Boise State Geosciences faculty – Jeffrey Johnson and Brittany Brand – are doing research and leading a class (supported by Johnson’s NSF CAREER grant) around and on Volcan Villarrica in Chile.  Jeff, who is in Pucón, Chile on a Fulbright fellowship, had placed infrasound sensors around the volcano that recorded the sound of the eruption.  The National Science Foundation has posted the story and recording of the sounds of the eruption on their website.
