Idaho Reports interviews Flores on the state of water in Idaho

“I have to be honest with you Melissa, it’s not great,” says Alejandro Flores, associate professor of geosciences and director of the Lab for Ecohydrology Applications and Forecasting, in a recent interview segment about fire and drought conditions in Idaho with Melissa Davlin of Idaho Reports.

Flores evaluated precipitation levels to date for this year, snow packs, storage of water in reservoirs and the precipitation forecast for the next few months to determine that, for now, “it’s a mixed bag to worse” for fire and drought conditions later in the year.

You can view the full segment on the Idaho Public Television website. The segment with Flores begins at approximately 20:45 in the video.
