The Doctoral Management Committee reviews complete applications for admission to summer, fall, or spring terms. Summer application deadline is March 1st, Fall deadline is March 1st, and Spring deadline is October 1st
Yes, the Ed.D. in Curriculum and Instruction program recommends that a student be in continuous enrollment during the first 15 months of the program.
It is possible to complete the basic coursework in a two year period including summers. The dissertation may take a year or longer beyond that time period.
Yes. Students are encouraged to count previous graduate-level courses in their Area of Specialization (cognate) credit requirements. Students are encouraged to discuss transfer credits with their advisor.
Yes. A maximum of 22 transfer credits are allowed. Additionally, transfer credit applied to the Area of Specialization must have been taken within seven calendar years of the time of admission to the Ed.D. program.
Graduate assistantships are available upon application. There are also potential adjunct faculty openings.
Initially the DMC will assign a Doctoral advisor (chair) based on your research interests and academic background. Students may change advisors over the course of their study.
Discussion should begin right away with the advisor. Students are encouraged to take course work in their Area of Specialization in addition to the CIFS doctoral courses each semester.
