Peer Mentor Program

Hi! I’m Sadia. This is my second year at Boise State where I’m majoring in social work. My passion for social work came from working with various groups while volunteering and my ultimate goal is to open up my own counseling clinic! I enjoy volunteering and am part of a few clubs and organizations on and off campus. I am community-oriented, enjoy networking, and am always down to go to volunteer/social events. Hola! My name is Betzy Beristain and I’m from Jackson Hole, WY. This is my second year at Boise State where I’m majoring in business. My goal is to continue my education by eventually going to law school. This is my second year in TRIO Rising Scholars and my first year working as a Peer Mentor. I am interested in helping students find their place on campus because I know how hard it is to adapt to a new place where you know no one and have to start from scratch. I enjoy watching true crime documentaries, learning new languages, and traveling! Fun fact: I’m named after a protagonist in a Telenovela. Feel free to reach out to me about anything!

Hi everyone! My name is Morgan Gaines and I’m from Oregon. I am in my second year at Boise State, majoring in Social Work with a minor in ASL and Family Studies. I have loved getting to explore Boise through hiking, camping, and trying new foods. Fun fact: I have never been on a plane! Hi everyone! My name is Alexa Roblero. I’m majoring in Marketing and hoping to go into the music industry with my degree, since I’m passionate about it and love to read and write songs! Ciao a tutti! I’m Leigha Rossi, a third-year Interdisciplinary Studies Major, focusing on Film, Creative Writing, and Business. I spent last year studying in Torino, Italy and discovered a love for traveling, fitting my passion to learn more about different cultures! When I’m not at school, you can find me reading, roller skating, crocheting, hiking, and hanging out with my friends. My goal for the future is to possibly open up my own café/bookstore! Hello! My name is Raquel Torres and I’m a sophomore here at Boise State. I am a Business major and hope to get a degree in Accounting. My ultimate goal is to become a corporate lawyer. This is my second year being part of TRIO and my first year as a Peer Mentor. Fun fact: I had two parakeets and now they both live in the wild! In my free time, I like to play the drums, violin, and watch K-dramas. I speak English and Spanish, so ask me if you want to practice your Spanish!
