IDoTeach Students Co-Author Paper on Science Teaching Technique

Teacher candidates in Leslie Atkins Elliott’s Spring 2018 IDoTeach course developed a lab activity that can be used in high school physics classrooms. The technique was recently featured in an article published in The Physics Teacher. The technique models the potential energy of a magnetic accelerator, and the published article describes how secondary STEM education teachers can replicate the activity. The work is part of an NSF grant to develop techniques to engage science students in engineering design.
