[Darin Gray, Ed.D. Educational Technology]: My name is Darin Gray and I’m in the Ed.D in EdTech Program and how this part has benefited me professionally is when I talk to students and I talk to undergraduate as well as elementary, middle, and high schools, I talk to them about how they learn and one of the things that people have started to do is use their cell phones, use computers, use tablets, but that seems to be separate and apart from learning. People use it for social engagement and entertainment. When you start talking to people about how they can use their phone or how they can use their computer to gain knowledge, gain information, then that helps them to see their possibilities. So the program helped me to serve underrepresented communities by connecting them through the use of the technology they already have with education, with tools, and with skills that they need to increase their ability to learn and increase their employment opportunities.
