School of the Environment

Our Work

The School of the Environment was founded on partnership: the idea that we can learn from one another and work together on environmental projects that benefit Idaho and Idahoans. That collaborative spirit carries on today in the communities we work with and the research we undertake that benefits our communities.

Research for Idaho

Boise State’s School of the Environment supports research programs that have a direct impact on Idaho and Idahoans, while addressing global challenges. Our researchers can be found in the field studying Idaho’s water supply, managing invasive weeds like cheatgrass and balancing the needs of agriculture with wilderness.

Research in the School of the Environment is:

Driving discovery

Our researchers are on the forefront of discovery across environmental fields. Their work asks big questions and leads to answers that direct the efforts of conservation workers on the ground.
