Family Gathering

until December 21, 2025

Student Union Fine Arts Gallery

In Family Gathering, artist Jacob Wilson creates a variety of work across video, sculpture, and photography that reflects on memory, personal history, and the fluidity of familial narratives. Through visual and narrative abstraction, the work explores how stories evolve across generations. Shaped by time, emotion, and the tension between subjective memory and objective truth, their work brings voice to personal uncertainty and contemplation. Drawing on their personal life and the familial narratives they’ve heard since youth, Jacob navigates the blurred lines between what is remembered and what is true.

Idaho Lands

By Kayla Hanson

Oil painting of a young child standing in a field staring at mountains in the distance
Kayla Hanson, Home, oil on canvas, 2025

October 30th – December 21

Reception November 4th, 4:30 – 6:30 pm

Student Union Trueblood Pop Up Gallery

The work in Idaho Lands is deeply rooted in Kayla Hanson’s personal experience as an Idaho-born artist. It simultaneously reflects the beauty of the state’s landscapes and the consequences of overdevelopment in these sacred spaces. Painted in plein air, some capture the immediacy of the Idaho wilderness and local scenery while others reimagine places already erased by development or envision an abstracted future—one where the views from residential windows no longer open to foothills and open land, but instead to the too-close walls of neighbors. Hanson, with conservation intended, writes: Will these Idaho landscapes be protected? My hope is that they will endure.
