Effects of Media Pressure and Perfectionism on Men’s Body Image

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of media messages and media literacy on men’s body image. Our results suggest pressure from media, family, and peers impact men’s drive to change their bodies and media literacy does not act as a protective factor.
