How to Apply

Congrats on your decision to apply to a graduate program at Boise State University! Follow the directions on this page to submit your application successfully.

Application Steps

  1. Submit your graduate application to the Graduate College. Remember to review your application carefully. Once you submit your application, you will not be able to go back and make changes.
  2. Submit your official transcripts for every college or university you have attended. Learn more about instructions for submitting your official transcripts.
  3. Pay your non-refundable application fee.

Application Fees

As part of the application process, you must submit a non-refundable application fee. The Graduate College cannot waive application fees. Your fee depends on your program type and whether you apply as a domestic or international student:

  • $65 for Domestic Non-degree seeking, Master’s, Education Specialist or Doctoral programs
  • $65 for Domestic Certificate programs
  • $95 for International Master’s, Education Specialist, Doctoral, and Certificate programs.

Minimum Admission Requirements

The following are the minimum admission requirements of the Graduate College. Meeting these requirements does not guarantee admission to your program of interest.

  • At least a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited U.S. college or university, or a degree from a non-U.S. institution of higher education that is judged equivalent to a U.S. baccalaureate degree by the International Admissions Office. If you do not hold a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited U.S. college or university, you may request an exception to this admission requirement.
  • A cumulative GPA of at least a 3.00 for all undergraduate work. If you have below 3.00 you should contact your program’s coordinator for more information.

Note: Being admitted into the Graduate College does not mean that you are also admitted into your program. You are only officially admitted to your program after you submit all required documents and receive written notification of your admissions status. Finally, applicants who are applying as a graduate degree-seeking student and were graduate degree-seeking students elsewhere but did not complete the program must demonstrate that they departed that program in good academic standing.
