Intramural Pilot Project Program (IP3)

Purpose

In accordance with its strategic plan and goal to expand research productivity, the College of Health Sciences’ Dean’s Office in concert with the COHS Office of Research is pleased to announce the Intramural Pilot Project Program (IP3). The purpose of this program is to provide faculty with an opportunity to perform pilot research or fund workload buyouts that result in enhancing their research agenda and competitiveness when seeking extramural funding. It is anticipated that a tangible outcome resulting from this intramural funding opportunity will be an increase in the number of extramurally-funded research proposals that are submitted and awarded.

  • Deadline for Submission: April 2, 2018, 5:00pm
  • Anticipated Award Announcement: May 4, 2018
  • Anticipated Project Start Date: June 1, 2018
  • Anticipated Project End Date: May 31, 2019

Award Information

  • Award Budget – Up to: $20,000
  • Number of Awards – Five (5)
  • Project Period – Twelve (12) Months
  • Eligibility – Faculty holding clinical, tenure-track, or tenure rank are eligible to apply. Faculty must have a strong desire to use this award to enhance their research agenda and subsequently apply for extramural research funding.

Can co-investigators be non-COHS faculty?

Yes, co-investigators can be from other colleges on campus.

Are there any restrictions or limitations on what can be included in the budget?

No, there are no restrictions.

How many courses can be bought out?

Faculty can buyout up to two (2) courses (with departmental approval) for AY2018-2019. Courses will be bought out at the adjunct rate. There will be no salary savings to the department.
