New course explores ‘Global Women’s Health’

The Department of Community and Environmental Health is offering a new special topics course, HLTH 497 Global Women’s Health. The course will be offered Mondays, 4:30-7:15 p.m. beginning fall 2020, is open to all majors and requires no prerequisites. 

This seminar-style course provides an introduction to factors influencing and impacting women’s health across their lifespans. This course incorporates the intersection of birthplace, culture, gender, socioeconomic status, ability, etc. to analyze the health status of women globally. Students will have the opportunity to research and apply methods of inquiry to evaluate and advocate for improved women’s health.
