The College of Health Sciences Students Services and Academic Advising has been hosting weekly Zoom focus groups in an effort to support College of Health Sciences students during the transition to remote learning during the Spring 2020 semester.

Facilitated by Mary Crowell, the director of Student Services and Academic Advising for the college, the Zoom focus group gives all College of Health Sciences students an opportunity to talk about their overall experience with the transition into online learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Crowell provides students an opportunity to ask questions, talk about hurdles in remote learning, as well as recent accomplishments, and learn more about resources to help guide students during this unfamiliar learning experience.

“We really want to make sure that all of our students have the opportunity to share their experiences,” said Crowell. “It’s important to us that we provide students with opportunities to reach out and that we hear directly from them to learn what’s on their mind and what their needs are. Gaining a better sense of their experiences helps us know how to better support our students.”

The Zoom focus groups are being held every Monday from 1-2 pm MST. To attend the next student focus group, please contact Naomi Sallay at naomisallay@boisestate.edu.
