  • Jason McGill

    Resident Director - Towers Hall

Adopted at birth from Bucharest, Romania, Jason grew up in a small town in Northern Nevada called Silver Springs where he graduated from Silver Stage High School. Home of the Nighthawks! He then completed his Associate of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Western Nevada College (WNC) before obtaining his Bachelors of Arts degree in Psychology at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR). Forever a part of the Wolf Pack family, Jason remained at UNR to complete his Masters of Science degree in Equity and Diversity in Educational Settings. Jason has worked in various areas of student life at WNC and UNR but found a renewed passion for student affairs when he began working in Residential Life while at NEVADA beginning in 2019. It is here where he developed the philosophy that while in our Residence Halls, this shouldn’t be a student’s home away from home, but rather their home PERIOD. Creating a safe, welcoming, and rewarding experience for his residents are Jason’s goals each and every day.

In his personal life, Jason is admittedly a nerd and proud of it! With some of his loves being professional wrestling, Marvel comics/movies, and other areas of anime/ pop culture. Though he will gladly talk about wrestling with anybody that is willing, it is best to plan your calendar accordingly because it is hard to get him off of the subject

I graduated from Boise State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice in 2020 and am currently working towards a Master’s of Education in Curriculum and Instruction. I am passionate about assisting students and fostering an environment in the residence halls where students can learn and grow. The part I love about working with students the most is developing long-lasting relationships with students and helping them leave Boise State with good memories. When I am not working in housing I am at the nearest disc golf course, enjoying time at home reading and making art, and (occasionally) homework!
