Wellness. Well suited. Well done!

What is “Work Well”?

Human Resources introduces our “Work Well” campaign. Driven by our People Strategy, Work Well encourages strong leadership, skill-set expansion and the creation of a culture of trust, transparency and wellbeing.  The campaign lets supervisors and departments decide what works best for their team based on roles, responsibilities, and situations.

Why We’re Doing This

Boise State University recognizes that greater flexibility in the workplace and a focus on career development and wellness in today’s market is an essential practice we need to build and infuse to support our Boise State employees, retention, recruitment efforts, and work-life satisfaction.

Components of Work Well

  • Recruitment and retention methods have evolved; we MUST prioritize employee development.  Our G.R.O.W. program offers employees training, internal career path development, and the option to further their education with our tuition fee-waiver benefits.
  • Outline and provide guidelines and expectations for all team members working flexible and hybrid schedules.  Create the ‘watercooler’ moments for onsite and offsite employees.
  • Leaders must be provided with continual training on the required skills and abilities necessary to build a confident, collaborative, and productive team–no matter where or when they work.
  • Brand our job postings and recruitment materials showcasing the Work Well ideals provided when working at Boise State.

How it Works

The Work Well campaign begins with our employee engagement survey which will be sent out February 2022. The goal of the survey is to gain insights into the interaction of supervisors, managers, and employee wellness. This survey aligns with the university’s strategic plan and its goal to “foster a thriving community.” The results of the survey will be used to discover essential employee needs, uncover gaps in a supervisor’s skillset, and identify tools or resources needed to be effective.

Our Goal

Working remotely, working on campus, working hybrid, and working flexible schedules are all different ways our employees are getting the job done today and tomorrow.  Work Well will bring these options together and allow all employees and departments the choice of what works best for them in a given situation.
