To initiate a background check, please complete the form below. After the form has been submitted, the candidate/employee will receive an email from our third party vendor, Sterling, which includes a link to begin the background check process. - CRIMINAL CONVICTION CHECK: Required for all new employees or employees rehired with a break in service greater than 12 months. This includes all temporary, permanent, benefit-eligible and non-benefit eligible hires. May be required for Student Employees and Volunteers.
- MOTOR VEHICLE CHECK: Required if the employee will be working in a position that A) is responsible for operating a university-owned or controlled vehicle for any purpose, or B) is responsible for transporting students, clients or others in a private vehicle on a routine basis, or C) is responsible for transporting minors under the age of 16 at any time. Optional (but recommended) for volunteers or student employees who will work in a capacity that meets any of the above conditions.
- CREDIT CHECK: Required if the employee will A) routinely handle large amounts of cash or provide access to university systems that contain personally identifiable information such as a person's name and social security number, bank account number or credit card number, or B) give responsibility for or grant authority over large sums of money, or C) be at a senior level where the individual’s ability to manage her/his personal obligations may be indicative of her/his ability to manage the affairs of the University’s.
