Public Employee Retirement System of Idaho
Classified staff and temporary hourly employees normally working 20 hours/week for five (5) or more consecutive months are eligible for PERSI benefits. If an employee works 20 or more hours per week for more than one half the weeks in any five-month period, eligibility is met and PERSI membership is mandatory. Faculty and Non-Faculty professional employees who elected to remain in PERSI when the Optional Retirement Plan (ORP) was first rolled out and those that are already vested with PERSI may continue to contribute to PERSI rather than enrolling in the ORP.

- Employee contributions: 7.18%
- University contributions: 11.96%
Note: Starting July 1, 2024 contribution rates for PERSI changed.
Employee contribution rate: Changing from 6.71% to 7.18%
University contribute rate: Changing from 11.18% to 11.96%
Employees are vested after 5 years (60 months)
