Associate Professor, Librarian - Albertsons Library

Elizabeth Ramsey

Bio

Librarianship is my 3rd career, but my prior work as a graphic designer and an ESL teacher have definitely influenced my teaching and research as a librarian. As part of my responsibilities I’m the library liaison to programs in the School of Public Service, as well as the Center for Global Education, which is connected to my research interests in civic engagement and outreach to underrepresented students in higher education.

Scholarship

My research often focuses on aspects of success in academic settings and how libraries can play a part in fostering the connections, skills, and overall well-being that contribute to that success. In addition I look at the essential nature of information literacy, particularly as it relates to civic engagement and healthy, well-informed communities. I can serve community partners particularly well through my expertise in navigating the complicated online information landscape.
