Volunteer Opportunities
In 2019 Boiseans welcomed the Mandela Fellows into their businesses, homes and hearts. As one of the Fellows commented, “Now I know why they call it the Treasure Valley, the people are real treasures!” Hundreds of volunteer hours are required to ensure the personal and professional needs of the Fellows are met. See information below for more details on Volunteer Opportunities. Programming Opportunities
In addition to Volunteer Opportunities, there are a number of Programming Opportunities for nonprofits and local organizations. If you are interested in involving your organization, please email mandelaboise@boisestate.edu. Your request to participate should address one or more of the following objectives and priorities listed below.
Objectives
- Build long-lasting connections between Idahoans and Fellows.
- Increase Idahoans’ knowledge of Sub-Saharan African countries.
- Create individual innovative plans to confront public management issues.
- Forge mutual understanding and respect among leaders around the globe.
- Expand public management engagement through citizen involvement.
- Uncover leadership strengths to heighten individual leadership profiles.
- Produce policy change initiatives relevant to Fellows’ individual countries.
- Grow community involvement throughout Boise.
