Albertsons Library To Publish, Host Data Sets in ScholarWorks

map showing places Boise State data sets have been downloaded
This ScholarWorks usage map shows places across the world where data sets from Boise State have been downloaded.

Albertsons Library is now able to publish and host data sets in Boise State’s repository, ScholarWorks.

Depositing your data in an open access repository like ScholarWorks can fulfill journal requirements for open data, comply with funder mandates for public sharing and increase the visibility of research.

As part of the publishing process, a digital object identifier will be issued for each data set. The identifiers, common in research article citations, make data citable and discoverable. Assigned to published data, they become part of a researcher’s scholarly output.

The ScholarWorks system will provide researchers with metrics regarding usage, showing numbers of downloads and location. Current Boise State data sets, including biological sciences data, Dry Creek experimental watershed data, environmental seismology lab data, and others are available online at scholarworks.boisestate.edu.
