Sole Pera, assistant professor, and Jerry Fails, associate professor, co-organized KidRec, an interactive workshop held in Trondheim, Norway. This year’s theme was on Recommender Systems (RS) in the educational domain for children.
KidRec congregates researchers and experts from multiple disciplines, in order to understand the ethical, pedagogical and technical implications of designing and developing RS for children and education activities. They intend to do this by accomplishing three main goals: discuss and identify the benefits and limitations related to RS designed for young children; discuss possible design and research solutions to the identified challenges; expand the community of professionals interested in RS and children’s education.
