The College of Business and Economics is expanding its online Master of Business Administration (MBA) offerings to include three new area-of-emphasis programs that will launch fall 2019: management, healthcare leadership and construction management. These competitively priced, accredited online programs are designed for working professionals who are looking to gain a professional edge while continuing their current, full-time careers.

Brian O’Morrow

“We chose these emphasis areas knowing that Boise State is well positioned to deliver an excellent education for students in these growing industries,” said Brian O’Morrow, senior director of working professional MBA programs. “With the program’s existing focus on innovation and strategic decision making, it was a natural fit to add these emphasis areas to complement the business core curriculum.”

The online MBA with an emphasis in management program helps students develop the managerial and communication skills that employers seek for leadership positions. Students will oversee projects from ideation to execution, and learn techniques to motivate a workforce and drive improvement.

Students in the online MBA with an emphasis in healthcare leadership program will learn the latest knowledge and skills for navigating the ever-changing healthcare landscape. This program also helps students develop core management and decision-making skills that are necessary to improve the business of healthcare.

The unique online MBA with an emphasis in construction management is the result of an interdisciplinary partnership with Boise State’s College of Engineering. This program features instructors from the construction management department and equips students with the skills and credibility to rise as leaders in the architecture, engineering and construction industries. Students also will develop effective strategies for managing construction teams and projects from planning through execution.

Casey Cline

“With this emphasis, we focus on the increasingly integrated nature of the construction industry,” said Casey Cline, department chair of construction management. “We’re helping to prepare students to lead in a changing landscape where technology, people and business are more important than ever.”

The online MBA programs are flexible and convenient, featuring multiple start dates per year; 100 percent online coursework; digital textbooks; reasonable, pay-as-you-go tuition that includes all course materials; and accelerated completion time. A GMAT/GRE waiver is available to those who qualify, and no prerequisites are required. Students can prepare for the next level of leadership with the online MBA or choose to tailor their business education to an in-demand career with one of the new emphasis programs. Curricula for all Boise State online MBA programs begin with a unique design-thinking course that encourages creative problem-solving. Students can graduate from these programs in as few as 12 months, prepared for success in today’s competitive global market.

Boise State has been recognized by U.S. News and World Report as a Top 50 “Best Online MBA Program”, a Top 50 “Most Innovative School” in the national universities category and a Top 25 “Best Online MBA Program for Veterans” in 2019.
