Taco Bell Arena officially transitioning to ExtraMile Arena

Boise State’s Taco Bell Arena will officially transition to the ExtraMile Arena Sept. 16-20. While new exterior signs are installed outside of the aren’as public entrances, other items such as policy signage, the website domain, social media handles and many others will be rolling over during this window to ensure the transition is as swift and consistent as possible. The arena aims to be fully converted in time for the Boise Goes the ExtraMile Fun Run on Sept. 21, a collaboration between the City of Boise, Bronco Fit and ExtraMile.

The arena staff and ExtraMile team look forward to welcoming the community into this new chapter and sharing the projects that are in play throughout the facility.

ExtraMile, a joint venture between Chevron, USA Inc. and Idaho’s Jacksons Food Stores Inc., also is converting 22 Treasure Valley Jacksons Food Stores to the ExtraMile brand. The first total transformation will be completed at a Jacksons location in Caldwell, Idaho, early next month.

“We started this business with a single store in Caldwell, so it’s kind of fitting we’re beginning this next big venture with ExtraMile in Caldwell, too,” said Cory Jackson, president of Jacksons Food Stores and a board member of the joint venture.

Jacksons purchased a 50 percent interest in the ExtraMile joint venture partnership with Chevron in February 2018. Jacksons is converting its Chevron-branded locations into ExtraMile stores. Jacksons’ Shell stores will continue to operate under the Jacksons’ brand banner.

Boise State University announced in June that ExtraMile would acquire the naming rights to ExtraMile Arena, formerly Taco Bell Arena, in an agreement that will bring the university $8.4 million over a term of 15 years.

“Jacksons is such a spectacular success story, and we’re fortunate to have them as a partner in the continued growth of ExtraMile,” said Paul Casadont, president of ExtraMile. “We’re also looking forward to continuing the Jackson family’s tradition of being an involved and contributing member of the communities we serve in the Treasure Valley. The ExtraMile Arena branding agreement with Boise State University illustrates that commitment.”

“The joint venture definitely has a positive economic impact here in the Valley,” said Jackson. “The Boise State University partnership is a great example of that.”

Jacksons will retain employees currently working at the Jacksons stores after they convert to ExtraMile brand. Jacksons “Let’s Go Rewards” cards will be honored at most ExtraMile stores.

Signage for ExtraMile Arena was created and installed by Image National of Nampa, Idaho.
