Jennifer Black, a lecturer in the English department, was awarded the inaugural Idaho GEM Innovative Educator Award for her discipline area by the Idaho State Board of Education’s general education committee and Capital Educators Credit Union. Black was nominated for the award by fellow educators for her innovative teaching, and was recognized for her achievements at the State Board of Education’s general education meeting on Sept. 19.
