Nominate an exemplary instructor for a University Foundations award

The University Foundations awards recognize the essential and sometimes overlooked contribution that individuals who teach non-majors make to the core mission of public education: to educate citizens for making a living and making a life as individuals and community members.

Boise State employees are encouraged to nominate exemplary teachers of non-majors. The deadline for nominations is March 2. Read more about the awards and submit a nomination here: https://www.boisestate.edu/academics-gec/uf-faculty-awards/

One faculty member from each of the following course categories will be recognized by University Foundations and the General Education Committee.

Award Categories: Foundations of the Discipline Categories

Foundations of Written Communication
Foundations of Oral Communication
Foundations of Mathematics
Foundations of Natural, Physical, and Applied Sciences
Foundations of Humanities
Foundations of Arts
Foundations of Social Sciences

Other Categories

Foundations of Intellectual Life
Foundations of Ethics and Diversity
Finishing Foundations

The six winners from the Foundations of the Discipline categories then will become Boise State’s nominees for the Idaho State Board of Education’s new GEM awards, which celebrate outstanding general education teaching across all of Idaho’s state colleges and universities.
