The Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT) selected Organizational Performance and Workplace Learning (OPWL) faculty member Lisa Giacumo to receive AECT’s 2020 Presidential Award for her leadership work on the CLT Board with social justice. Giacumo worked with the board to write a statement to guide AECT with its much-needed DEI reflections on issues of race, power, diversity, and social justice – especially in policy and practice. The Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT) is a professional association of instructional designers, educators and professionals who provide leadership and advise policy makers in order to sustain a continuous effort to enrich teaching and learning.
