Boise State to explore the future of food services on campus

Boise State will create a representative committee of students, faculty, and staff to develop the strategic plans, and evaluate the full range of possibilities for the future of dining services.

The dining services committee will consider options including:

  • extending the existing contract with Aramark
  • creating a self-operated dining program
  • developing a request for proposals to create a competitive process while maintaining quality food and service

The committee will explore and address:

  • board dining
  • retail outlets
  • catering
  • concessions

After the review, the committee will make a recommendation to university leadership in May 2021. Their work will be informed by Brailsford and Dunlavey, a company working with Boise State on long-term residential housing plans. Brailsford and Dunlavey will host stakeholder meetings and conduct surveys.

The university’s contract with Aramark will remain in effect through June 30, 2022. Boise State values and appreciates Aramark’s responsiveness during this challenging period providing consistent services, enhancing cleaning practices, implementing mobile ordering applications, and expanding services to students in quarantine or isolation.
