Boise State’s Narrative Television Initiative, a program in which students write, film and produce an original series, premieres “The Chinese Tourist,” its most recent project at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 14 at the Egyptian Theatre downtown Boise. The event is free and open to the public.
“The Chinese Tourist” tells the story of a rebellious Chinese girl studying abroad in America.
Di Bei, a recent MFA graduate of the creative writing program at Boise State, wrote and stars in the film. Students from each discipline within the Department of Theatre, Film and Creative Writing contributed to the making of the film—from writing and development to production and post-production. “The Chinese Tourist” contains mature themes and content.
