University staff now eligible for release time for development, training and workshops

Boise State is now offering four hours a month for benefit-eligible employees to participate in development opportunities during normal business hours. The university recognizes that ongoing training and development programs improve individual and organizational performance and helps to advance the institution’s strategic plan.

Development time can be used to attend webinars, trainings and workshops; study for certifications and school work; engage in inter-department development sessions; enhance job skills and participate in job shadowing. Coordination of time is at the discretion of the employee’s direct supervisor. Supervisors also determine if development time includes required department trainings and activities. The Human Resources website provides more information, available training opportunities (many of them free) and an employee release form.
