Two new art exhibits are opening in August in the Student Union Building.
The Boise State Story
The Boise State Story will be on display from Aug. 21 through Oct. 2 in the Student Union Building Fine Arts Gallery. An opening reception will be held 4:30-6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 23.
This exhibition, curated by Cheryl Oestreicher, head of Special Collections and Archives in the Albertsons Library, takes visitors on a walk back through Boise State history using photographs and other materials from the university’s archives.
Assembling Self will be on display from Aug. 21 through Dec. 18 in the Trueblood Pop Up Gallery located on the second floor of the Student Union Building. An opening reception will be held 4:30-6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 23.
This exhibition features works by Marianna Jimenez Edwards, a Mexican-American artist whose mixed media work reveals research of textile design, archaeology, and the ephemera of her family as she immerses herself in the discovery of her ancestral Mexican culture.
