Apply now to join the luminary faculty learning community

Located in the Center for the Visual Arts at Boise State, the Keith and Catherine Stein Luminary is a state-of-the-art, all-digital museum space with touch-activated walls that can produce a range of immersive, interactive and sensory experiences. The Center for Teaching and Learning and the School of the Arts are working together to facilitate a luminary faculty learning community to encourage faculty to use the space in their teaching.

The learning community will be divided into two cohorts: Luminary scholars 1.0 (for faculty new to using the luminary) and 2.0 (for veterans of the luminary).

Luminary scholars 1.0 will meet eight times over the fall semester to learn how they can use the luminary in their teaching. They will also design two learning experiences within the space that can be shared with their students in the spring 2023 semester. Participants who complete the program will receive a $300 stipend at the end of the semester.

Faculty in luminary scholars 2.0 will meet eight times in both the fall and spring semesters and will work with facilitators to design unique learning experiences for their students. Participants in this cohort will receive a $600 stipend upon completion.

Additional details, along with the application link, can be found on the learning community webpage. The deadline to apply is Monday, Sept. 5, 2022. Those with additional questions can contact Lisa Hunt at lhunt@boisestate.edu or Leslie Madsen at lmadsen@boisestate.edu.
