Time card and absence issue resolved, employees can enter time

The time card and absence issue noted in a May 22 communication to campus has been resolved. Employees can now enter time into Bronco Hub. Visit the Bronco Hub training website for a job aid outlining how to edit and submit time cards.

The issue was caused when Oracle, Boise State’s human resources management and finance provider, applied a quarterly patch. Oracle’s cloud environment includes quarterly patches that promote small incremental changes aimed at fixing issues and enhancing functionality. Boise State has a process to test quarterly patches prior to patch deployment. Each quarter, the Boise State team tests over 80 critical scenarios and allows sufficient time to resolve any issues prior to the patch implementation.

While this quarter’s patch updates were tested, the testing did not find the time card and absence error that impacted Bronco Hub users this week. Upon discovering the error, the Office of Continuous Improvement was able to quickly connect with Oracle and resolve the issue. Quarterly testing protocols have been modified to avoid future impacts to Bronco Hub users.
