Knight retires after 18 years of service

Lesley Knight, buyer in Procurement and Vendor Services, will be retiring after serving Boise State for over 18 years. Lesley started as an office specialist in the Vice President of Finance and Administration’s office in 2005. She then moved to the purchasing department, beginning as a technical records specialist and working her way up to buyer in 2018.

A valuable asset to the purchasing team in Procurement and Vendor Services, Knight was the primary support for all software purchases and renewals for the university.

“Lesley has been an integral part of developing a partnership between Purchasing and OIT. Her collaborative spirit and understanding of common goals have been a great asset to Boise State. She is a great partner and a pleasure to work with. OIT Business will miss her but wishes her the best in retirement,” said Fred Warr, manager of business services in the Office of Information Technology.

Knight was an integral member of the team that tested and implemented the DocuSign integration with Oracle and diligently supported the team with quarterly readiness testing.

“Lesley has been an integral part in the process of software purchases and renewals for OIT. We are extremely grateful for her experience, cooperation, and persistence,” said Sara Harris, a contracts manager in the Office of Information Technology. “She’s established excellent connections and relationships with vendors and stakeholders alike. Lesley has always been very pleasant to work with, and she will be missed as she starts her next chapter into retirement.”

More from colleagues:

“I was fortunate to work with Lesley from my first day at Boise State University. I was glad to have her on my team as a buyer. She has a steadfast, quiet determination and willingness to ask questions to ensure her concerns were addressed as she worked on complex OIT purchases and the legal review required per university policy. She developed good working relationships with campus and especially the OIT team with whom she worked most closely. She handled the project service orders for the Peoplesoft Staff Augmentation to select and manage vendors from a multiple-award RFP and successfully led the DocuSign implementation that finally allowed buyers to digitally sign Oracle Purchase Orders. She also contributed to the university with her time on the ACE Senate. On a more personal note, I always appreciated her kindness and her superpower of finding things! Boise State was lucky to have her for so long! I wish her the best in her retirement!” – Shannan Thomas, former assistant director of purchasing.
