Idaho Center for the Book announces ‘Facing the Mountain’ event

Join the Idaho Center for the Book and Friends of Minidoka to discuss “Facing the Mountain” by Daniel James Brown, the #1 New York Times bestselling author of “The Boys in the Boat,” on Feb. 7 from 6-7:30 p.m. at Albertsons Library.

The event is a partnership with Boise State’s history department and the local chapter of the Japanese American Citizens League. It is free and open to the public – attendees are not required to have read the book in advance. Paid parking will be available in the Lincoln Avenue and Brady Street garages.

The discussion is being held in conjunction with The Go For Broke Spirit: Portraits of Legacy by Shane Sato, an exhibit about the veterans of the same unit featured in “Facing the Mountain.” The exhibit is on display at Albertsons Library through Sunday, Feb. 18, during regular library hours.
