Mandatory employee trainings: A guide and reminder to complete by March 31

The 2024 Cybersecurity and the Respectful Workplace trainings are mandatory for all benefit-eligible employees. These trainings must be completed by 5 p.m. on March 31 in order to be eligible for Change in Employee Compensation (CEC) increases, should one be approved by the legislature. The following are helpful guidelines to complete the trainings.

Cybersecurity Training

In a digital world, staying safe online is crucial. Cyber threats like phishing emails and ransomware attacks are constantly evolving, making it essential to be vigilant and informed. This training equips users with the knowledge and skills to protect tthemselves and Boise State data from these threats. This year’s training is titled “2024 Your Role: Internet Security and You.”

  • Access: Knowbe4.com and log in using the Account Login button.
  • Login credentials: Boise State email address and a separate password created from previous year’s training. To update a password, click “Forgot Your Password” on the login page.
  • Participation: All Boise State benefit-eligible employees
  • Web Browser: Use Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge to access KnowBe4.
  • Training duration: Approximately 18 minutes (can be completed in multiple sessions).
  • Deadline: 5 p.m. on March 31, 2024
  • Accommodations: Employees with disabilities may send reasonable accommodation requests to complete this training to paige.bongiorno@dhr.idaho.gov or call (208) 854-3077.

If a department would like student staff to take cybersecurity training, they can participate in a Cybersecurity Training for Students module.

Respectful Workplace Training

Boise State’s Respectful Workplace training provides employees with the tools to prevent and respond to harassment and discrimination in the workplace, including where to report if there is a concern. This training helps to maintain a campus that is free from discrimination and harassment, where everyone can work and pursue their education in a safe and supportive environment.

  • Access: Boise State Canvas Login
  • Login credentials: Boise State credentials and password.
  • Participation: All Boise State benefit-eligible employees and Adjunct faculty.
  • Training duration: A 12-minute video
  • Deadline: 5 p.m. on March 31, 2024.
  • Accommodations: Employees with disabilities may send reasonable accommodation requests to complete this training to hrs@boisestate.edu or (208) 426-1616. Requests should be submitted by March 24.
