Free virtual symposium for teaching and learning with artificial intelligence

Registration is open for the inaugural “Innovate Idaho: Teaching and Learning with AI Symposium” This is a free online event taking place from 10 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 3, 2025.

Co-hosted by Boise State assistant professor Jason Blomquist, this virtual event will showcase groundbreaking work happening across the state with AI in education. Presenters representing seven of Idaho’s eight institutions of higher education will share their insights and experiences.

“A big piece of it, in addition to having people show what they’re doing, is hopefully to create a space where people can share what they want to do and develop some collaborations and next steps,” Blomquist said. 

Blomquist is one of the State Board of Education’s fellows for generative AI in education working to foster posterships and understanding around AI in higher ed.

Taking an interdisciplinary approach, the symposium will explore AI’s potential to transform education across a variety of contexts. Topics will cover: AI for Teaching and Learning, AI for Scholarship and Research, AI Literacy and AI Ethics.
